The first thing you need to know about paragliding is, it’s the epitome of freedom!
Similar to skydiving minus the tummy tickling adrenaline rush of being pushed out of a plane before soaring through the open clear skies of eternal azure.
My best friend and I were feeling a little adventurous one summer’s day so we decided to spice things up and try paragliding. What a great idea that turned out to be, especially overlooking Byron Bay of all places!
We drove 30 minutes inland to the hinterlands of Mullumbimby where we found our instructor, Irvin, and his paragliding wolf pack propped up on top of a stunning steep hill showcasing the remarkable views of Byron Shire.
Imagine a 360-degree view of a lusciously green covered landscape; deep blue lakes, thriving forests and an abundance of farm animals going about their day.
I was up first to take the plunge off the hill strapped to Irvin in a tandem harness. I never expected the seat to be so comfortable! After you leap from the hill and the glider inflates, you simply slide the “chair” under your bum.
Luckily he knows what he’s doing and we ended up amongst the fluffy white clouds soaring like weightless souls.
Honestly, it’s one of the coolest activities I’ve experienced! If you’re visiting the Byron Bay area looking for a memorable activity, contact Poliglide on +61422637122 or firstname.lastname@example.org
